The Scalabrinian Association for the Service of Human Mobility (ASCALA) is a non-governmental organization firmly committed to the promotion and defense of human rights, empowerment, and social and community development. Founded on October 1, 2004, and based in the municipality of Consuelo, it belongs to the Congregation of the Missionary Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo Scalabrinians. ASCALA has established itself as a reliable and committed institution, recognized for generating significant social impact. From the bateyes of the Eastern and Northern regions of the Dominican Republic, it promotes transformative actions aimed at improving the living conditions of migrants and their descendants, placing human dignity and social justice at the center.
